• Where can I purchase music by Sonic artists?

Your best bet is your local record store (provided you live in Canada). If they don’t have a copy you can request that the store order one for you. Links to online retailers can be found here. All Sonic Records releases and Great Big Sea releases are available through Warner Music Canada and Great Big Sea releases are available through Rounder Records in the US.

Great Big Sea's are here, and Wintersleep's can be found here. Info on The Novaks can be found here.

We post new dates as soon as we confirm them, so keep watching!

  • I’m a musician and am interested in being represented by Sonic Records, what should I send you along with my demo?

Please be sure to include a bio & press photo or a web-site address where these materials can be found. Info on when & where you are playing live is also very helpful - again, a web-site address with this info will suffice.

Please bear in mind we receive a considerable amount of demo submissions and given we are a small operation we are unable to respond to or acknowledge every submission. If we are interested or require anything further we will be sure to get in touch.

EPKs and further inquiries can be sent to: info@sonicentertainmentgroup.com

  • I would like to meet the band or get backstage, how can I do this?
Sonic Concerts does not provide artist contact information to the public. There are often contests held by media presenters prior to shows that offer such opportunities.

  • Where can I pick up tickets that I have purchased over the phone or online?
Tickets are generally held at the box office until the day of the show. They are then moved to the venue and are available for pick up once the doors to the event have opened. Sonic Concerts suggests picking up pre-purchased tickets in advance of the show to minimize wait times.

  • What time do your shows start?
Here is a list of usual start times for Sonic Concerts:

    • Club - 19+ show (weekday) - doors: 8 PM, support act: 9:15 PM, headliner: 10:30 PM (give or take 15 - 20 min. if there's a 3rd act)
    • Club - 19+ show (weekend) - doors: 9 PM, support act: 10:30 PM, headliner: Midnight (if there's a 3rd act, they would start at 8:45 PM)

    • All ages show (weekend) - doors: 8 PM - show over by 12:30 AM the latest

  • How old do you have to be to get in?
You should refer to the concert calendar (link) for any age restrictions. Photo ID is required for any 19+ shows.

  • If a show is sold out is there still any chance of getting in?
In some cases we release tickets on the day of the show. Check with the box office prior to the concert to find out about any last minute availability (many theatre shows often have a waiting list for day of releases). Media presenters often hold contests giving away tickets to shows as well.

  • Is the show general admission or reserved seating?
You should refer to the concert calendar (link) for this information. Generally club shows are general admission and theatre shows are reserved seating.

  • How does my band get a show in Atlantic Canada with Sonic Concerts?
With the exception of local bands, we really don't take unsolicited material or demos. We prefer to deal directly with agents, managers and bands with whom we’ve built a solid working relationship. If you're just starting out and looking to do your first show in Atlantic Canada, we suggest that you contact the local Music Industry Association for their gig database.

  • I am a parent and am concerned about whether or not I should let my child go to your show.
Sonic Concerts is committed to providing a safe environment for all our ticket holders.

  • Am I allowed to bring photographic equipment to events?
The majority of our shows have a strict no photography policy. It’s suggested that cameras be left at home; if brought to the venue they can be confiscated by the event staff.

  • Am I allowed to bring any audio/video recording equipment?
Not unless it is otherwise specified on your ticket. Exceptions may be made with written permission from the artist’s management and venue management. This written permission must be presented in advance to Sonic Concerts.
